While working on the Fuzz Factory and some oscillators from the Nic Collins book I almost damaged one of my fancy monitors, so I decided to use an LM386 chip with a very inexpensive speaker to make a fashionable, portable, battery powered monitor that can be easily repaired if something goes wrong.
I will make more of these and try different components to make my own power amps. There is potential for a very inexpensive 8 channel studio here, or maybe more, why stopping at 8 when full range speakers are relatively easy to harvest from the streets?
